Our Family Law team will be taking part in Dechox 2019 in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Dechox is the British Heart Foundation annual challenge to give up chocolate throughout February.
Anything with cocoa in it is off limits – from the sprinkles on a cappuccino, to that 3pm chocolate bar. You can donate our volunteers a Chocolate Pass to give them a day off here.
Our staff are raising money for the British Heart Foundation’s research and would be grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives.
It’s only thanks to support from fundraisers that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help us hit our target of £200 by the end of February.
To give an idea of how these donations will be used between £75 – £149 could pay for enough researcher toolkits to keep a busy research team going for over a week. £150 or more could help an early career researchers carry out a day-and-a-half of research. £300 or more could help to pay for one day of a project to build new, healthy pieces of heart. It is hoped that in the future this new heart tissue could be used to treat heart failure.
To make a donation (small or large), visit our JustGiving page here.
According to the British Heart Foundation website, in 2017-18 they raised more than £170 million.
For every £1 raised, around 75p went straight to funding research on heart and circulatory diseases, and the risk factors that cause them.
