Cathy Hawks qualified as a Legal Executive in 2001 and was admitted as a fellow in 2003. During her legal career she has worked for specialist human rights and personal injury lawyers Leigh Day in London, Burnetts in Carlisle and Beaty & Co in Wigton where she became partner and then Managing Director. Following the acquisition of Beaty & Co by Bendles LLP, Cathy remained with them as a partner for 2 years. She works within our Litigation department.
Cathy on qualifying primarily worked on personal injury cases helping clients with severe life changing injuries and trauma. She obtained damages and over the years has managed to claim millions of pounds in compensation for those clients.
Cathy now undertakes many aspects of dispute resolution. She has experience in probate disputes including inheritance act claims, property disputes and other commercial litigation. She continues to act for clients in multi-track personal injury matters.
With many years of experience Cathy is a skilled negotiator and an excellent communicator which provides confidence to clients and helps allay fears during what can at times be lengthy and stressful cases.
Cathy has an excellent relationship with some of the countries most experienced personal injury and chancery barristers which enhances the clients legal team in more complex cases.
